New Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucose Meter

The new Accu-Chek Active not only offers many new features, but also well-known features that have been improved. In this section, you will find information on these new or improved features. (the order does not reflect the relevance or importance of a specific feature.)

What is new?

Attractive, top quality design

The new Accu-Chek Active immediately catches your eye. Designed according to the new Roche Diabetes Care Industrial Design Guideline V 4.0, the Accu-Chek Active is an appealing new blood glucose meter that has:

  • A high quality
  • A good look and feel
  • A modern and dynamic shape
  • A plain user interface
Backward and forward compatibility

Backward: the new Accu-Chek Active test strip works with every Accu-Chek Active meter, independent of the meter generation.
Forward: the current (non-MIC) Accu-Chek Active test strip, with an expiry date of July 2014 and later, works with the new Accu-Chek Active meter.

Preset time and date

CET time and date are preset on the Accu-Chek Active during production at the factory, meaning that only minor adjustments are required and the meter is always correct.

No loss of time and date

The new Accu-Chek Active meter guarantees no loss of time and date if the empty battery remains in the meter until the new one is available.

Beep tone

The new Accu-Chek Active provides the user with a beep tone. It is an acoustic support for easier handling – you can decide whether to turn the beep tone on or off.

Postprandial reminder

This new feature helps the user to test at the right time. With this symbol you can set up a postprandial reminder. Two hours after the last testing, the meter reminds you to test again.

USB Interface

With the new USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface, it is very easy to transfer data from the meter to your PC using a USB cable. Please note that you still need an Accu-Chek Diabetes Management solution on the PC to analyze the data.

What has been improved?

7, 14, 30 and 90-day test average

Even more records for even more representative data. The 90-day average provides an indication of HbA1C, a very important assessment for diabetes monitoring.

Up to 500-result memory

We extended the memory to store up to 500 test results, allowing the new Accu-Chek Active to store 150 results more than the Accu-Chek Active (3) meter.

Size reduction

The new, space-saving Accu-Chek Active meter is now 30% smaller, providing a handy blood glucose meter.

User interface

We created a new user interface, which is now more intuitive and easy to understand, e.g. the navigation within the memory has been improved.

Display size

The new Accu-Chek Active has a very easy to read display, which is now 10% bigger.

Longer re-dose option

The new Accu-Chek Active meter provides a longer, 10 second re-dose option.

Redesigned test strip guide

The redesign leads to an easier, more comfortable blood application with better accessibility for test strips.

Test strip chemistry

The new Accu-Chek Active test strip is independent of maltose chemistry, removing any clinically relevant maltose interference.

Broader hematocrit range
